Writing your first CV can be a real challenge – not only is it uncomfortable to talk about your accomplishments, but it’s also difficult to remember the details and too easy to leave off really important components. I’ve been asked to forward my CV several times, for grant writing, when applying to non-institutional educational activities like seminars and workshops, when requesting letters of reference, and when my adviser needed to update her own information. Some of the best advice I’ve gotten in my program is to keep my CV up to date. My own suggestion is to take a look at your CV once a month during busy times of year and at least once over the summer. Below are some resources to help you get started:
